Our History
Our story starts way back (1989), Nothern Uganda Yumbe District
- 1989 - Founding Family started the Ground Work for initiating Lodonga Islamic Study Centre
- 1991 - The Centre was registered with Uganda Registration Bureau (URSB)
- 1991- The Centre obtained Land Title in the Names of Lodonga Islamic Study Centre
- 1993- the muslim students union of West Nile appointed the chairman of the Founding Family Lodonga Islamic Study Centre as their patron
- 1994- The Chairman Founding family/ the Patron Managed to convince all the Head teachers of Government secondary schools who were not allowing muslim students in these schools to perform the five daily islamic prayers to give them rooms as mosques
- 1995-We moblised Muslim Communities about the importance of owning land with title before constructing a Mosque /schools for security purposes
- 1996- lodonda Islamic Study centre with the support from muslim World League and international Islamic relief organisation all from the Royal kingdom of Saudi Arabia Distributed Relief in form of clothes to South Sudanise Refugees
- 1997- We toured the South Sudanese refugee camps to talk to the Muslim refugees about the exhistance of lodonga islamic Study centre and its activities and the relevance of the centre to the muslims.

1998- Lodonga islamic Study Centre special comittee toured the whole of the Greater northen uganda starting from west nile region to Northern region covering teso and karamoja sub-regions to ascertain the number and capacity of muslim institutions in the areas of education, health and training institutions. the report found out that muslims in greater norther uganda are lacking in good educational infrastructures and have no hospitals and girls schools in the region

2000-several educational programmes were started and are running upto date and these programmes include; 1.teaching muslim children and women their religion and quran memorisatrion
2. Teaching new muslim converts and as a result of these activities the muslim population in the area has Grown big.
CHALLENGES OF LODONGA ISLAMIC STUDY CENTRE
- Lack of money and need for money to prepare over half of One Square Mile of Land to pave way for the Turkish Architects to draw the Architectural Master Plan for the Sunni Muslim-Lodonga Islamic Study Centre.
- Lack of established Financiers whose representatives could be part of the Board of Trustees to finance the construction of Multi-Institutionally Lodonga Islamic Study Centre to operational levels and only handover the Keys to the management of Lodonga Islamic Study Centre.
- Lack of financial resources to pay tuition fee, scholastic materials, feeding and hostel charges as a means of supporting the education of the needy and orphan students.
- Lack of financial resources to well organize Islamic Competitions amongst Muslim primary and Secondary Schools and Mosques in the fields of Quran memorization and Islamic Religious Education for purposes of instilling Islamic Principles and Values into the Muslim Children as a means of Cultivating the spirit of Moral Uprightness and love for their religion.
- Lack of financial resources for paying salaries to Sheikhs and Sheikhats who execute Lodonga Islamic Study Centre Programs in the field of Religious Education and Capacity Building and Arabic language.
- Lodonga Girls Secondary School closed all the classes from (S.I – S.VI) due to lack of financial support.
- Mosque construction not completed. (See the photo attached)
- Lack of funders/Donors
- Jealous and religious bias.
- Lack of WAQF for Lodonga Islamic Study Centre.
- Lack of financial support for organizing Islamic leadership workshops to train local Muslim leaders, Youth and Women
- Lack of financial support to buy IFTAR foods and drinks during the whole month of Ramandan.
- Lack of financial support to buy enough animals for slaughtering during Idd Al Adha celebrations
- Lack of relief support in terms of clothes and Assorted Islamic Consortiums to cover more needy Muslims.
Achievements
1. Lodonga Islamic Study Centre is legally and functionally recognised by the government of the Republic of Uganda.
2. Lodonga Islamic Study Centre is the biggest Muslim land lord in the Greater Northern Uganda.
3. The first Muslim Girls secondary school in the Greater Northern Uganda was started by Lodonga Islamic Study Centre in the names of Lodonga Girls Secondary School.
4. Creation of Islamic and developmental awareness among youth and women supporting the needy Muslim students with tuition fees and scholastic materials.
5. Supporting orphans, organizing workshops and seminars for Muslim students, youth and women about there rights and duties as Muslims in order to be good citizens.
6. Organizing Islamic religious competitions for Muslim Children in areas of Quran memorization and Islamic religious education and prizes are always awarded to the best performers.
7. Sponsoring Iftar programs in Mosques under Lodonga Islamic Study Centre.
8. Buying Bulls, goats and sheep as sacrifices for needy Muslims during the time of Idd Al Adha especially to the Mosques under Lodonga Islamic Centre.
9. The Founding Family / Lodonga Islamic Study Centre enjoys maximum moral support from the National Resistance Movement government especially from the President of the Republic of Uganda is Excellency Mzee. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni under whose government Muslim population in Uganda has grown up and constructively participating in the development of Uganda.
10. Sponsoring Sheikhs and Sheikhats in executing Lodonga Islamic Study Centre programs in the field of Deen , Education, Capacity Building, Moral rehabilitation and Arabic language.
11. Giving relief items in terms of Islamic clothes and assorted Islamic Consortiums to the needy Muslim women, Girls and the Youth.
